Special Meeting of Uptown Planners
Uptown Planners will host a special meeting this Thursday, September 24th from 6 to 8 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 3967 Park Boulevard, to discuss the draft Implementation Element. This Element is important because it addresses zoning and other features which will implement the Community Plan.
UHCA Meeting on October 1 to Focus on Land Use in UH
Kristin Harms will present at the University Heights Community Association (UHCA) meeting on October 1st about the draft Community Plan Updates for North Park and Uptown as they affect land use in University Heights. The meeting will start at 6:45 pm and be held in the Alice Birney Elementary School Auditorium at 4345 Campus Avenue.
Kristin will present an overview of the City’s proposed Land Use plans as they affect UH as well as the land use plans recommended by the community at a UH community workshop in May 2013. The presentation will also include visual representations of each option, based on existing projects in Uptown and North Park. UHCA members who attend this meeting will also have the opportunity to vote on the various land use options for UH.
Kristin has been actively involved in historic preservation and the community plan updates as they affect UH since 2010. She has lived in UH since 1985, chaired the UH Historical Society from 2007 to 2014, founded and chaired the Neighborhood Historic Preservation Coalition from 2008 to 2010, and was awarded the City of San Diego Historical Resources Board History Award in 2007, Save Our Heritage Organization People in Preservation Award in 2008, and City of San Diego Historical Resources Board Award of Excellence for Individual in 2014.
